about
ABOUT THIS TRACK:
"Road To The City",opener of SEEKING RAVEN's second album "The Ending Collage", tells the story of a couple living in the fading world.
The girl flirts with the idea of leaving that old world behind and with it her entire past life to be able to live on in the future, new world. The boy is a hopeless nostalgic human-being who refuses to leave and would rather die, staying in his own world. He clings to the hope that his girlfriend is a person just like himself, crying about the fading of their origin and tries to convince her to stay with him.
With the term “she” the lyrics refer to the city that comes closer and closer, representing that whole new, modern world.

LYRICS:
(I see you crying...)
She seems much closer than before
Something is changing, the wind has turned
The new world is still far but it will change who we are
She’s here to conquer – to take control
We’re losing something along the way
The air now tastes like smoke - so bad, I start to choke
How I will miss this land
And I know: In secret you’ll do, too
Hold my hand
Just one more time before this world will end
Do you feel the old sun?
Can’t you see we have to stay?
(Do you feel lonely, too?)
We can’t change what she’s done
But still can chase her away
(You’re an old soul like me)
I’ll show you how
There’s nothing left to say
(You cry when nobody is watching – just like me)
Please don’t leave now
Please find the strength to stay
(Do you feel lonely, too? Do you not?)
